WARFARE - "LEGENDS NEVER DIE" (ft. POWER TRIP'S CHRIS ULSH)

Hardcore supergroup Warfare (fronted by Triple B Records owner Sam Yarmuth and also featuring current and former members of Trapped Under Ice/Angel Du$t, Kommand, Fury, Hoax, Trash Talk, and more) have shared the third single off their upcoming album Doomsday. Sam calls it an ode "to all our fallen friends," and it features a shredding guitar solo from Chris Ulsh of Power Trip, whose frontman Riley Gale tragically passed away in 2020 at age 34.

WHORES. - "IMPOSTER SYNDROME"

Atlanta sludge metal band Whores. have confirmed that a new album is coming this year, but first here's a new single, which is heavy and pissed-off but still very melodic. They also announced a tour with Bummer and Capra.

--

ABBATH - "THE BOOK OF BREATH"

Black metal veteran Abbath (of Immortal) has shared a new single off his upcoming album Dread Reaver: the majestically evil "The Book of Breath."

--

VIDEO PRICK - "HATE IT HERE" / RAW BREED - "RAW IS WAR"

Hardcore bands Video Prick (from Seattle) and Raw Breed (from Denver) are putting out a split EP on April 15 via Convulse Records, and one song from each is streaming now: Video Prick's discordant, abrasive "Hate It Here" and Raw Breed's forceful, aggressive "Raw Is War."

--

GHOST - "TWENTIES"

Ghost have shared another song off their upcoming album IMPERA, and this one kinda goes in a gothy industrial/hard rock direction, but still in an unmistakably Ghost-like way.

--

HAUNTER - "CHAINED AT THE HELM OF ESCHATON" (CLIP)

Austin black/death metallers Haunter have announced a new album, Discarnate Ails, due May 6 via Profound Lore. It's made up of three lengthy songs, and you can hear about three minutes of the closing track now.

--

THOU - "GOO IN A BURNING CITY" (FMGEW REMIX)

Sludge metal band Thou have teamed with Gewgawly I to score the new video game Norco (due March 24), and the first single is a new Thou song called "Goo in the Burning City" that was remixed by Gewgawly I and Geography Of Robots‘ fmAura. If you've ever wondered how an electronic remix of Thou would sound, the answer is: pretty cool!

BESVÄRJELSEN - "DIGERLIDEN"

Swedish stoner doomers Besvärjelsen have announced their sophomore album Atlas, due 5/27 via Magnetic Eye, and you can read more about lead single "Digerliden" here.

--

TOOL - "OPIATE²"

Tool have released "Opiate²," the nearly-ten-minute rework of the title track of their 1992 EP. Read more about it here and pre-order the accompanying Blu-ray/art book here.

--

END ON END - "HOW-TO ACT"

Straightedge hardcore band End On End describe themselves as "true-blue-hardcore-punk-rock music for both the curious-minded and the knuckle-headed," and that vibe definitely comes through on new single "How-To Act." It's the first taste of upcoming EP People Like You, due March 16 via New Morality Zine.

--

DOMINION 18 - "CHOOSE YOUR SIDE"

Connecticut hardcore band Dominion 18 (members of Laid 2 Rest, Out For Justice, Cast In Blood, and more) have just re-released their 2020 demo on the DAZE label, and it comes with the bonus track "Choose Your Side," a kickass dose of metallic hardcore.

--

BLEED - SOMEBODY'S CLOSER EP

20 Buck Spin have just signed Dallas' Bleed, whose shoegazy alt-metal should appeal to fans of stuff like Deftones and Higher Power. The label just re-released their 2021 EP Somebody's Closer (with cassette and vinyl releases coming later this year), and Bleed are currently working on their debut LP.

--

TÓMARÚM - "WHERE NO WARMTH IS FOUND"

As mentioned, Georgia progressive black metal duo Tómarúm are releasing Ash in Realms of Stone Icons in May via Prosthetic. Here's new single "Where No Warmth Is Found," a nearly-nine-minute scorcher that toes a thrilling line between prog and black metal, and it sounds like there's a little Swedish melodeath in those riffs too.

--

BLIND GIRLS - "WISH"

Australian screamo band Blind Girls have announced a new album, The Weight of Everything, and you can read more about new single "Wish" here.

--

MESHUGGAH - "LIGHT THE SHORTENING FUSE"

Swedish metal vets Meshuggah are releasing their first album since 2016, Immutable, next month via Atomic Fire Records (pre-order on orange/red opaque vinyl), and they've shared the second single, the unrelentingly heavy "Light the Shortening Fuse."

--

KUBLAI KHAN TX - "LOYAL TO NONE"

Texas metalcore band Kublai Khan TX have a new EP, Lowest Form of Animal, on the way, and the latest single is "Loyal to None." "'Loyal to None' is loyal to no one," the band's Matthew Honeycutt says. "When trust comes with tragedy and loyalty leads to heavy losses. We are once again blueprinting our interpretation of Texas chaos. To those who remain loyal, walk the world. To those you don't, die a thousand deaths."
