So many artists, so little time. Each week we review a handful of new albums (of all genres), round up even more new music that we'd call "indie," and talk about what metal is coming out. We post music news, track premieres, and more all day. We update a playlist weekly of some of our current favorite tracks. Here's a daily roundup with a bunch of interesting, newly released songs in one place.
ROLLING BLACKOUTS COASTAL FEVER - "TIDAL RIVER"
Australia's Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever have shared a second track from their upcoming album Endless Rooms, a zippy number where the band's three-guitar attack is really evident. “Tidal River is a little snapshot of living in a place at a time when it feels like there is no-one at the wheel,” says Tom Russo, who wrote and sings lead on this one. "If there were a complacency Olympics, Australia would win gold by a mile. In the 'lucky country', the luckiest ones jealously guard their fortune, as if it will disappear if they share it around. There is so much potential to do better, but it sometimes seems like progress is two steps forward, two steps back. Tidal River is located in what Europeans named Wilsons Promontory, where the river meets the ocean. It has great significance for the Gunai/Kurnai and Boonwurrung peoples, who call it Yiruk and Wamoon respectively. No matter the struggles and politics that go on, the river keeps churning into the sea." Endless Rooms is out May 6 via Sub Pop.

GHOST - "TWENTIES"
Ghost have shared another song off their upcoming album IMPERA, and this one kinda goes in a gothy industrial/hard rock direction, but still in an unmistakably Ghost-like way.

PENDANT - "STATIC DREAM"
Here's another track off Pendant's upcoming Saddle Creek debut Harp, and like previous single "Thorn," it's a very '90s-style fusion of electronics, hip hop, and noisy rock.

SIGNALS MIDWEST - "GOLD IN THE GREY"
Cleveland indie-punks Signals Midwest are releasing a new album, Dent, on April 8 via Lauren Records, and you can hear the catchy, anthemic lead single now.

DORA JAR - "IT'S RANDOM"
LA alt-pop singer Dora Jar, who just wrapped up a string of dates opening for Billie Eilish, releases her new EP comfortably in pain this Friday. Ahead of that comes new single "It's Random," which starts out as gentle, guitar-laden alt-pop before bursting into an explosive grunge chorus.

BREAKLIGHTS - "WHEN YOU TALK"
Austin punks Breaklights will release a new album this summer via Wiretap, and new single "When You Talk" is a super catchy song that sounds straight out of a '90s teen movie soundtrack.

SCOTT HARDWARE - "UNDERDOG"
Toronto's Scott Hardware is preparing to release his third album, Ballad of a Tryhard, due out Friday (3/4) via Telephone Explosion Records. He's shared new single "Underdog," a slice of atmospheric pop with orchestral grandeur.

POND - “LIGHTS OF LEEMING”
“'Lights of Leeming' is a true story about the crushing boredom of suburbia and the wild and destructive things people do to break the monotony," says POND's Nicholas Allbrook of this new song. "To see that there's at least something you can do to affect your surroundings - to be seen and validated as a real, existent part of the world - even if it's just breaking something or getting in trouble. It's pretty dumb fun, but dumb fun is important, right?" "Lights of Leeming" is from the new deluxe edition of POND's album 9 which will be out May 20.

BARRIE - "CONCRETE"
Barrie's new album Barbara is out later this month via Winspear, and the latest single is the synthpoppy "Concrete," which Barrie says "is about taking the time and energy to figure out who you are. Learning to take up space and be yourself, unapologetically. This process can feel selfish and even sinister, depending on how you are conditioned socially… but the major modulation in the final chorus is about finding power and confidence in that self-actualization."

SPRINGTIME (DIRTY THREE, TROPICAL FUCK STORM, THE NECKS) - NIGHT RAVER EP
Springtime, the Aussie trio of Gareth Liddiard (Tropical Fuck Storm, The Drones), Jim White (Dirty Three, Xylouris White), and Chris Abrahams (The Necks), have a new EP out today, Night Raver. With three songs clocking in at 41 minutes, some might call this an "album" but these tracks have the spirit of experimentation that EPs can embody.

WHITMER THOMAS - "TREVOR" (PROD. JAY SOM)
Comedian and musician Whitmer Thomas will release Can't Believe YOu're Happy Here, a new EP produced by Jay Som, on March 25 via Hardly Art. The first single is is "Trevor," about people who seem to have life figured out. “In the past few years, I’ve met a handful of people coincidentally (or maybe not) named Trevor who all seemed a lot happier than me,” says Thomas. “It got me thinking about why and how I’ve become such a cynical bummer, and how much I wish I wasn’t.”

THE LINDA LINDAS - "TALKING TO MYSELF"
The Linda Lindas' anticipated debut LP Growing Up is due out next month via Epitaph, and the latest single is "Talking to Myself," which the band's Lucia de la Garza says is "about the spiral you go into when you're lonely. You start to question yourself and all the decisions you've made. I'm always looking back on conversations and going 'Oh, I should have said this, I should have said that.' But it's also about needing other people, not just for reassurance, but because we've all learned from the pandemic that you need other people to talk to in order to stay sane."

BADBADNOTGOOD - "OPEN CHANNELS"
Vinyl copies of BADBADNOTGOOD's Talk Memory include this freeform psychedelic jazz track that was exclusive to the format, but ahead of their tour -- which starts next week --they've shared it to streaming services.

END ON END - "HOW-TO ACT"
Straightedge hardcore band End On End describe themselves as "true-blue-hardcore-punk-rock music for both the curious-minded and the knuckle-headed," and that vibe definitely comes through on new single "How-To Act." It's the first taste of upcoming EP People Like You, due March 16 via New Morality Zine.

KATY KIRBY - "BAD MAN" (ALEX G COVER) & "SO MUCH WINE, MERRY CHRISTMAS" (HANDSOME FAMILY COVER)
Katy Kirby released an expanded edition of her 2021 album Cool Dry Place, featuring two covers: Alex G's "Bad Man" and Handsome Family's "So Much Wine, Merry Christmas." "Cool Dry Place turned a year old a couple weeks ago," Katy writes, "to celebrate we’ve recorded the two covers we played when we finally got to tour with CDP— “So Much Wine, Merry Christmas” by the Handsome Family and “Bad Man” by Alex G—turns out both songs are comically niche since no one else really seemed to know them, but that is ok! They’re both important to me and I’m glad they’re recorded and I’m glad they were made with people I love, xoxo etc."

KING VON - "WAR"
King Von's posthumous album What It Means To Be King comes out this Friday, and here's a new single that reminds you Von was both hard-hitting and incisive.

MAIA FRIEDMAN - "SUNNY ROOM"
Dirty Projectors' Maia Friedman is releasing her debut solo LP, Under The New Light, next week via Last Gang Records, and the latest single is the pastoral-feeling "Sunny Room." "The search for my sunny room - my internal place of peace, comfort and calm - is a daily endeavor, and sometimes feels like a tug-of-war," she says. "This song is a wish that the comforting space within one’s self is bright enough to outshine moments of darkness. As someone who has struggled with depression and anxiety, I know that these sunny rooms can often be difficult to find, and yet I do my best to renew the search time and time again."

CALEXICO - "HARNESS THE WIND" FT SAM BEAM (IRON & WINE)
"When we recorded 'Harness the Wind' it felt like we tapped into a spark of bright light and positivity,” says singer and Calexico co-founder Joey Burns. “Everything fell together quickly and naturally. With the shiny electric guitar weaving in and out of John and Sergio’s propelling drums and bass, the song always had a vibe that stood out from the other songs. We sent the tracks to Sam Beam to add his vocals on the chorus which made the tune float even more. It’s a song about hope and sharing compassion to fellow travelers and dreamers who are trying to find their way.” Calexico's new album, >El Mirador is out April 8.

THE WEATHER STATION - "TO TALK ABOUT"
The Weather Station releases the companion to her excellent 2021 album Ignorance, How Is It That I Should Look At The Stars, this Friday via Fat Possum, and she's shared one more advance single, the gorgeous ballad "To Talk About," which has Tamara Lindeman dueting with Ryan Driver amid piano and woodwinds.

HELLO MARY - "STINGE" / "SINK IN"
NYC trio Hello Mary are back with a new two-song single, and it's got a grungy indie rock vibe that's cut from a similar cloth as stuff like Liz Phair and Speedy Ortiz.

A. BILLI FREE & THE LASSO - "CALL ME"
New Mexico R&B/soul singer A. Billi Free has shared another song off her upcoming The Lasso-produced album Holy Body Roll (due 3/11 via Mello Music Group), and it's yet another very cool psych/soul/funk song.

BLEED - SOMEBODY'S CLOSER EP
20 Buck Spin have just signed Dallas' Bleed, whose shoegazy alt-metal should appeal to fans of stuff like Deftones and Higher Power. The label just re-released their 2021 EP Somebody's Closer (with cassette and vinyl releases coming later this year), and Bleed are currently working on their debut LP.

CHANNEL TRES - REFRESH
Singer/rapper/producer Channel Tres has surprise-released a new instrumental album that sounds like a collage of psychedelia, funk, dance music, and more. It's a very different side of him, and it's very fun.

YOUNG GUV - "TAKE UP ALL MY TIME"
Former Fucked Up guitarist Ben Cook will release new Young Guv album, GUV III, next week and here's one more jangly taster before the whole thing is out. Ben is channeling the Gallaghers, at least fashion-wise, in the video.

THUS LOVE - "INAMORATO"
Vermont trio Thus Love have signed to Captured Tracks and have shared their first single for the label. "Inamorato" is glistening, dramatic alt rock that sounds like it would've fit on college radio in 1987 between The Church and The Chameleons.

BELLE & SEBASTIAN - "UNNECESSARY DRAMA"
Belle & Sebastian will release A Bit of Previous, their first studio album in seven years, in May. (Preorder on Indie Exclusive vinyl.) Here's the first single.

PIXIES - "HUMAN CRIME"
Led by a driving bassline, "Human Crime" is a very Classic Pixies-sounding track down to the surfy guitars and big chorus. A pretty good one, too.

THE STROPPIES - "THE PERFECT CRIME"
The first single from The Stroppies new album is "The Perfect Crime," a strummy earworm that sets its guitarist against a naggingly catchy vocal sample. Fans of '80s/'90s janglepop or synthy stuff like The Rentals should listen now.

THEY HATE CHANGE - "FROM THE FLOOR" (ft. DJ GAY-Z)
Tampa experimental rap/production duo They Hate Change will release their new album Finally, New on May 13 via Jagjaguwar, and you can read more about new single "From the Floor" here.
