Track is available at all DSPs
While summer may look a lot different this year, platinum-selling singer-songwriter Jesse McCartney’s latest song “Friends” arrives as nothing short of a classic, breezy bop fit for every warm weather playlist. Written by McCartney, Scott Effman & Riley Biederer, the Twice as Nice-produced track is an homage to the people who become chosen family. A music video for the song – shot remotely to adhere to social distancing guidelines – will be released in the coming weeks.
“I think ‘Friends’ comes at a time when we all realize what’s most important. With the future looking uncertain, it’s nice to have friends to lean on for moral support,” McCartney says of the track’s timely release. “I know I speak for everyone when I say we’re all looking forward to getting back to our routines and seeing our loved ones face to face again!”
“Friends” follow the release of McCartney’s single “Yours” in April, an introspective look at the different roles he’s played throughout his life. The song has been hailed “an infectious return to form for McCartney” by Popdust.
