Today, King Gizzard & the Wizard Lizard released a new documentary titled RATTY, which details the making of their 2019 thrash album, Infest the Rats' Nest. As the band put it, "The doc shows the path of creation from gag jams to gig and all the sweat and stink that comes with it."
RATTY can be rented for $3 which give you a 1-week streaming period via Vimeo. You can also purchase a limited edition "RATTY" t-shirt designed by Bráulio Arnado. 100% of proceeds from both the film and tee will benefit a variety of different Australian Indigenous charities, including Australians For Native Title and Reconciliation, BlaQ Aboriginal Corporation, DJIRRA, and Indigenous Social Justice Association Melbourne. You can watch the trailer below.
King Gizzard are still set to tour North America this fall, dates that were postponed from the spring. Stay tuned for any updates regarding the dates.
Meanwhile, King Gizzard also released a feature-length live concert documentary (and accompanying 16-track live album) called Chunky Shrapnel back in April. Though the film is no longer screening, you can still listen to the album to catch some of the magic of a King Gizzard live show.
You can also find a King Gizzard track, "Real's Not Real," on the new ATO Records compilation, Silence is Not an Option (alongside artists such as Amyl and the Sniffers, Chicano Batman, My Morning Jacket, Brittany Howard, Nilüfer Yanya, and more). 100% of the proceeds from the compilation will be donated to Black Lives Matter Greater NY, Color of Change, and Innocence Project.
