Origin and Misery Index share new songs ahead of tour together

Kansas tech-death vets Origin have announced their eighth album and first in five years, Chaosmos, due June 3 via Nuclear Blast (pre-order). It was produced, engineered and mixed by past collaborator Rob Rebeck. Guitarist and sole remaining co-founder Paul Ryan says:

Chaosmos... 25 years in the making. I'm personally super excited to present this album to our fanbase and I hope that they are excited to experience it as well! I personally tried to combine elements of every era stylistically of each album in this release and with the continuation of the same lineup for the last few albums I hope our fan base connects to the music that we have created! Over the years, so many bands have used and imitated our musical approach but the most important elements of Origin's music are songwriting, composition, and structure dynamics, not just technicality and flare - and that can never be replicated. Thank you for taking the time to listen to our newest album to date .... Chaosmos.

The first single is the dizzyingly technical "Ecophagy" and you can check that out below.

As mentioned, Origin have an upcoming tour, including one leg with Misery Index, Wake, and Wolf King, and one with Abysmal Dawn, Tombs, and Killitorous.

The tour with Misery Index, Wake, and Wolf King hits Brooklyn's Saint Vitus on May 14 and NJ's Dingbatz on May 15, and tickets for both of those are on sale now. All dates are listed below.

Misery Index also just released a new song, "Infiltrators," the latest taste of their upcoming album Complete Control, which arrives May 13 via Century Media (pre-order). The band says, "'Infiltrators’ is certainly the most hardcore-tinged song on the album (as well as the shortest). The lyrics target those who spew divisive, dehumanizing ideologies. It’s an outright rejection (and admittedly a strong one) of those who support and apologize for these people and their anti-social, fascistic worldviews." Listen and watch the Chris Joao-directed video below.
