Berlin electronic music duo Modeselektor have officially announced their forthcoming studio album, 'MDSLKTR,' marking a significant return for the influential pair. Alongside the announcement, they have shared the project's lead single, 'Aorta,' which is available now via Monkeytown Records.
The upcoming twelve-track LP was meticulously developed in the duo's Berlin studio in collaboration with co-producer Johannes Wagner, widely known as J.Manuel. The project promises a diverse sonic landscape, featuring contributions from an array of notable artists including Kabeaushé, Siriusmo, Miss Platnum, Tommy Cash, Lars Eidinger, and Gudrun Gut.
Lead single 'Aorta' serves as the foundational entry point for the album. The record relies on a stripped-back production approach focused on reduction, utilizing hardware setups centered around a Yamaha DX7 synthesizer rather than software or modular systems.
Gernot Bronsert and Sebastian Szary formed Modeselektor out of Berlin's post-Wall club culture, building a catalog that merges techno, electro, hip-hop, and experimental electronics across releases on their own Monkeytown imprint and BPitch Control.
'MDSLKTR' arrives on January 22nd, 2027.
