Gerd Janson, Guy J, & More Remix Budakid’s ‘Dreams Stretched Beyond’

Budakid has officially released Dreams Stretched Beyond (The Remixes), a comprehensive seven-track collection arriving via his own imprint, Flores. This project serves as a creative expansion of the Dutch-born, Berlin-based producer's debut studio album, which originally debuted this past July.

The original album was conceived during a period of profound isolation in the Alps, drawing upon two decades of personal experience to weave together intricate songwriting, synthesizers, and melodic arrangements. This remix package invites a diverse array of electronic music luminaries to reinterpret those foundational sounds, including Gerd Janson, Guy J, Fort Romeau, Argia, Map.ache, Hernan Cattaneo, Kevin Di Serna, and Renato Cohen.

A Diverse Sonic Reimagining

Each contributor brings a distinct perspective to the source material, resulting in a collection that traverses the landscapes of progressive house, disco, melodic electronica, and deep tech. Guy J offers a masterful rework of 'Lovin’ Sun,' utilizing atmospheric vocals and a restrained, unfolding groove. In contrast, Gerd Janson, the visionary behind Running Back, injects 'Endless' with vibrant Italo disco sensibilities, characterized by bouncing chords and driving percussion.

The exploration continues with Argia, who delivers a spacious, mid-tempo interpretation of 'Hearts,' while Map.ache brings an intimate, melodic house touch to 'Tannenheim.' Fort Romeau shifts the energy of 'Is No Ova' into broken-beat territory, layering acid lines with vocal textures. The collection also highlights the collaborative spirit of the scene, featuring a joint effort on 'Lovin’ Sun' from Hernan Cattaneo and Kevin Di Serna, alongside a deeper, experimental take by Renato Cohen.
