JD Twitch’s Record Collection to Go on Sale at World of Echo

The extensive record collection of the late JD Twitch, the visionary co-founder of Optimo (Espacio), is set to be made available to the public. Starting November 14th, 2026, East London record shop World of Echo will begin the sale of this monumental archive, which represents a lifetime of musical discovery.

The collection, meticulously assembled over decades by the Scottish DJ and producer Keith McIvor—known professionally as JD Twitch—spans a vast array of genres, eras, and international origins. The initial release will feature approximately 7,000 to 8,000 records, available exclusively in-store at the shop's Cheshire Street location starting at 10 AM.

A Legacy of Musical Discovery

Following the initial launch, World of Echo will dedicate its space to the collection until November 19th. After this period, any remaining records will be integrated into the shop's regular second-hand inventory. To ensure the provenance of these items, each record will be marked with a unique ‘World of JD Twitch’ sticker. A second installment of the collection is already being planned for 2027.

Keith McIvor passed away in September 2025 following a battle with glioblastoma, an aggressive form of brain cancer. His career was defined by his relentless pursuit of new sounds and his commitment to sharing music through his influential DJ sets and curation.

“We know that people will have different opinions about what we should have done with it, but Keith believed records are ultimately there to be played, discovered and loved,” said his widow, Marissa Costello. “We wanted his records to find their way into other people's collections, to be played and enjoyed rather than simply kept because they once belonged to him.”

Supporting Research and Community

In addition to the record sale, the shop will offer memorial fanzines celebrating McIvor’s life and musical legacy. Proceeds from these fanzines will be donated to the Keith McIvor Glioblastoma Research Fund, which was established to support vital research efforts in Scotland.

World of Echo, which has become a hub for enthusiasts of early electronic sounds, krautrock, noise, EBM, and DIY recordings, purchased the collection directly from the family. By making these records available to the public, the shop and the McIvor family hope to honor his belief that music is meant to be shared and experienced by new generations of listeners.
