U2 have shared another new single, ‘The Greatest Show On Earth’, and announced the first dates of their 2027 world tour. The epic track serves as the latest preview of the Irish band’s 16th studio album, ‘Carnaval De Luz’, which is set for release on November 13.
Co-written by U2 and Brian Eno, the song is described as a narrative of lovers fighting to maintain faith in each other and in faith itself. Bono delivers a poignant vocal performance, supported by the signature, towering guitar work of The Edge. The track arrives alongside an official Anton Corbijn-directed video, filmed in the Californian desert, which features the band in a satirical, cult-like setting.
A New Era of Live Performance
The band has confirmed the initial shows for their 2027 world stadium tour, with performances scheduled in Mexico City, São Paulo, and Buenos Aires throughout February and March. Support for these dates will be provided by Beck. The group expressed their excitement for the upcoming run, stating, “It’s a dare, to ourselves as much as anyone, to try and have the best night of anybody’s life.”
Tickets for the tour go on general sale at 10am local time on Thursday, October 22. U2.com subscribers will have access to a pre-sale starting on Monday, October 19. Further dates for the UK, Europe, and North America are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.

This tour marks the band’s first full-scale return to the stage since concluding their residency at Las Vegas’ Sphere in early 2024. Notably, the tour will feature the full return of drummer Larry Mullen Jr. following his recovery from surgery. The band has been actively rehearsing, signaling a return to the stadium-filling energy that has defined their career.
‘The Greatest Show On Earth’ follows the release of previous singles ‘Silencio’ and ‘Street Of Dreams’. As anticipation builds for ‘Carnaval De Luz’, fans can expect a record that continues to push the band’s creative boundaries, including collaborations with artists like Rosalía and the final recorded performance of Dolly Parton on the album's closing track, ‘Torn’.
