One of the most unconventional collaborations in the entertainment industry stands between Monstercat and Rocket League. The electronic music record label and the vehicular-soccer video game have worked together since 2017 to cross their respective audiences. Since then, Monstercat has continued to publish compilation albums consisting of tracks from various artists on the label’s roster. In the lead up to the latest album titled Rocket League X Monstercat – Legacy, a new remix has surfaced from ATTLAS of the CloudNone track “From Here” as a single.
This remix takes the already chill-step rendition CloudNone delivered two years ago into an entirely new direction. On it, ATTLAS provides an upbeat progressive house makeover while maintaining the serene elements from the original. A desceding arpeggio takes charge with it’s calming repetition and incrementally works it’s way as an effective build and drop for the song. In fact, it works so well that it blends seamlessly with the original melody reworked with synths instead of the original piano work. The remix is a tranquil listening experience that is soothing as it is captivating.
This remix follows a great deal of work from both artists. CloudNone blew up in 2018 with the release of the original “From Here” and many other singles and EPs since. In this year, CloudNone dropped two EPs and a collaborative double-single with Direct. Meanwhile, ATTLAS kicked off 2020 with his debut solo album Lavender God. He has also continued to release several remixes for Arty, Hotel Garuda, and Kidnap.
This remix from ATTLAS of “From Here” is a shining example of the wonders that come from creative collaboration. Echoing the way Rocket League developers Psyonix and Monstercat working together, ATTLAS and CloudNone combined styles fuse in an unexpected, but wonderful way. It’s that spirit and energy that has made this collaboration so successful and hopefully will inspire more companies to crossover frequently in non conventional manners.
