Black Grape announce new album, share “Milk” & “Pimp Wars”

Black Grape, the long-running UK band led by Shuan Ryder (Happy Mondays) and rapper Kermit, have announced their fourth album, Orange Head, which will be out November 3 via DGAFF Recordings. It’s their first since 2017’s Pop Voodoo which in turn was their first in 20 years.

You can listen to two songs now: “Milk,” an aggressive dance track, and “Pimp Wars,” which has a little more of a Madchester shuffle to it. Both have Ryder’s unique lyrical style in full effect. Listen to both below.

Shaun Ryder is busy this year; his new group Mantra of the Cosmos (with Ride’s Andy Bell and drummer Zak Starkey) released their debut single earlier this year and are touring.

Black Grape’s debut album, It’s Great When You’re Straight, Yeah, made our list of the Best Britpop Albums of 1995.
