Born in Ivory Coast, the multitalented NYC-based singer-songwriter Aicha Dosso surprised the music world with her debut single "Bien." The artist, also known for her performances as an actress in the Venice Film Festival award-winning feature BYE BYE AFRICA and in Max Winkler's 2010 film CEREMONY starring Uma Thurman, decided to give a chance to her musical talent as well. In one way or another, music has always been present in Aicha's life. Her parents were huge admirers of Edith Piaf, and her music influenced Aicha's style.
Being raised in Paris, Cabaret music has always been a natural environment for the artist. Later after moving to NYC to study at the acclaimed Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute, she developed a strong love and admiration for the new city, her new home. She also had parts in theatrical productions on Broadway. Both Paris and New York are cities with unique energies, and Aicha decided to combine those energies into one in the form of her new single, “Bien.”
"Bien" is the artist's first attempt to mix Parisian Cabaret with pop and add a New York flavor to the melody. The result is poetic, jazzy, and emotional, and somehow reminds us of the iconic French artist Serge Gainsbourg’s music. Hopefully, in 2021, Aicha will continue her musical experiments and discover new magnificent sounds.
