Dance Gavin Dance announce new album ‘Jackpot Juicer’15 Albums That Shaped Progressive Post-Hardcore in the 2000s

Progressive post-hardcore vets Dance Gavin Dance have announced a new album, Jackpot Juicer, due July 29 via Rise Records. You can pre-order it on lavender marble vinyl. The album includes recent single "Synergy," which features Don Broco's Rob Damiani and finds the band's tech-y, anthemic sound in fine form, plus 17 other new songs. Watch the video for "Synergy" below.

DGD's festival Swanfest is this Saturday (4/23) in Sacramento with Animals As Leaders, Knocked Loose, Movements, Anthony Green, The Fall of Troy, Kublai Khan TX, SeeYouSpaceCowboy, Hail the Sun, Moon Tooth, and more; and that'll be followed by a spring headlining tour, and then a summer tour supporting Coheed & Cambria. The tour with Coheed hits NYC's Forest Hills Stadium on July 30. All dates are listed below.

This all follows the tragic news of longtime bassist Tim Feerick's untimely death, and the band say that Swanfest and all of their tour dates will be dedicated to him, and there will be a memorial to Tim at the festival:

The main factor of this decision [to move forward with the album announcement and tour] came from knowing who Tim was as a person and what he would have wanted. We are confident that he would be very disappointed if we were to postpone or cancel these dates. We received further affirmation of this from Tim's parents, with their encouragement to perform these dates. In addition, music is our way of healing, and we, as the remaining members, desire to be together during this time and perform on stage to our fans the songs that he helped create. While no one can ever replace Tim or what he has brought to the band, we have asked Sergio Medina, a close friend to all of us and someone who has worked with Tim, to perform the bass duties for the upcoming shows.

We are planning a memorial to Tim at Swanfest, and the entire festival will be in dedication to him, as will all the following shows on the tour. We look forward to celebrating his life with the fans. While this is an immense tragedy for everyone that loved and respected Tim, he would want everyone to come out, be together and enjoy the music. RIP Tim.

Royal Coda bassist Sergio Medina will be filling in for Tim at the upcoming shows.
