Demi Lovato stopped by New Music Daily on Apple Music on Friday (March 6) to chat about her new single "I Love Me" and open up about her approach to self-care.
“I do little things like self-care that seem really simple but add up over time," she dished to host Zane Lowe. "You know, things like meditation or even just taking, like, Epsom salt baths. You know, like aromatherapy, listening to music and crying, like getting your emotions out. Whatever it is, just loving yourself, getting massages. Doing things for you that you might value as minor or unimportant. But at the end of the day, when you do little unimportant things for yourself, it, you're showing yourself that you, that you matter to you.”
During the chat, the pop star also revealed that her performances at the 2020 Grammys and Super Bowl changed the direction of her forthcoming seventh studio album. "I'm actually finishing up some of the album, it was gonna be done a lot earlier than I thought," she said. "And then, after my performances, you know, we kinda went back to the drawing board and thought, 'What is this album missing? Am I really putting out the best work that I possibly can?' And so I'm just taking a little bit more time with it."
While Lovato's still hard at work fine-tuning its track list, the as-yet-untitled LP was preceded Friday (March 6) by self-love anthem "I Love Me," which serves as the album's lead single.
