Empire of the Sun have announced the debut edition of Chrysalis, a three-day destination festival taking place May 14th–16th, 2026, at The Sculpture Gardens in San Jose del Cabo, Baja California. Presented in partnership with 100x Hospitality, the event features over 25 artists, immersive environments, and three headline performances by the Australian duo.
Shaped around themes of transformation and imagination, Chrysalis blends electronic, psychedelic, and pop-leaning sounds with a visual and symbolic narrative. The inaugural lineup includes Disclosure (DJ set), The Flaming Lips, Magdalena Bay, Del Water Gap, DJ Tennis, DJ Heartstring, Midnight Generation, Walker and Royce, Adanowsky, Rio Kosta, Sofia Kourtesis, Aaron Hibell, and Roi Turbo.
“Chrysalis is about imagination and rebirth. This festival is designed to be spirit immersive — where people leave transformed,” says Luke Steele. “In a world that is overflowing with distortion, it’s time to let yourself be carried away.”
The Sculpture Gardens provide a secluded desert-meets-ocean setting, with stages and activations spread across Crania Reclaim, El Ganzo Beach Club, and Veleros Beach Club. The festival also features Baja-inspired culinary offerings, local artisans, and daily wellness programs, including yoga, meditation, and guided sessions.
