The singer's sign language hint makes it seem like FA5 is coming soon.
Fiona Apple has finally given a sign that she's getting closer to releasing her first new studio album since 2012.
In a video entitled "5" posted to her fan Tumblr over the weekend, Apple is seen chilling on a couch while watching the black and white 1950 Judy Holliday drama Born Yesterday while spelling out "My Record is Done" in American Sign Language.
Apple doesn't speak in the minute-long clip -- and there is no announced release date for the as-yet-untitled follow-up to 2012's The Idler Wheel... -- but near the end, she nods her head and offers up a knowing smile.
Apple has kept a typically low profile between projects, recently popping her head up to engage in a playful feud with Lil Nas X over her claims that he sampled her song "Every Single Night" on his "Kim Jong" mixtape track.
She later clarified her comments, mentioning that she was "just was being cute, playful and it didn’t come off like that, I guess.” Following the remarks, Lil Nas X tweeted, “Me & fiona apple should do something together for my album.”
