Handsome Boy Modeling School & more playing Brooklyn Bowl Record Store Day party

Saturday, April 23 is Record Store Day, and one of the exclusive releases available this year is a vinyl reissue of So... How's Your Girl?, the 1999 debut album from Handsome Boy Modeling School (aka Prince Paul and Dan the Automator). The album features appearances by Beastie Boys' Mike D, DJ Shadow, Grand Puba, Del The Funkee Homosapien, and more. You can stream it below.

To celebrate the reissue and Record Store Day, Dogfish Head Brewery, Rough Trade NYC and Rock & Soul Records are presenting a free happy hour party at Brooklyn Bowl on Saturday from 4-6 PM that is capped with a performance by Songs In The Key Of Purple: A Stevie + Prince Tribute With Atomic Funk Project. You can get a free beer from Dogfish Head with proof of a RSD22 purchase, and you can enter to win an Audio-Technica AT-LP60X turntable. The event is all-ages and free to the general public. More info is here.

Tonight (4/22), Handsome Boy Modeling School will perform with special guests Stakit Selektah and Kosha Dillz. Tickets for that show are on sale.

Brooklyn Bowl is also hosting Record Store Day parties at their venues in Nashville, Philadelphia and Las Vegas.
