Kesha has performed her first concert as a “free motherfucking woman” at WeHo Pride.
In December, the singer announced she had finally departed Dr. Luke’s Kemosabe label following a decade-long lawsuit where she accused the producer of sexual assault and emotional abuse in 2014.
He denied the allegations and countersued the artist, claiming she had breached the recording contract they had with one another and made up rape allegations in an attempt to get out of the deal. The pair have since reached a settlement in their defamation lawsuit just one month before it was due to go to trial. Kesha has maintained her original claims against Dr. Luke.
Now, Kesha has celebrated her first show post-lawsuit, as she headlined West Hollywood Pride at OutLoud Fest.
“This is my first show as a free motherfucking woman,” Kesha told the crowd, before asking them: “Anybody else feeling free as fuck tonight?”

Kesha has been teasing new music this year, first with a cardboard sign announcing the news in Los Angeles. She later revealed to V Magazine that she was writing new songs, but that fans can’t hear the music just yet.

“I’ll say that there is a day—although I won’t say the day—but there is a day marked on my calendar when I am free to release music,” she said.
“So just know that she is out here in the woods writing and singing till four in the morning, ferociously. I am being a feral wild woman out here. So just know that.”
The singer has since shared snippets of her new music in March, with a song whose lyrics read: “I’ve been waiting for you, everything’s changed now.”
Kesha last released music in May 2023 with ‘Gag Order‘, an album which NME called “probing, purging and unflinching personal”: “‘Gag Order’ – despite its title – is the embodiment of an artist who has found their voice.”
In other news, 50 Cent has supported Kesha changing ‘TiK ToK’ lyrics to “like fuck P Diddy” at Coachella.
