King Krule played 1st of 2 Kings Theatre shows (pics, setlist)

King Krule is currently on tour supporting his great new album Space Heavy, and on Tuesday played the first of two nights at Kings Theatre with Jerkcub. Photos by P Squared from the show are in this post.

It was a moody and mostly mellow show, with Archy Marshall’s aching baritone at the center, and the lighting matched the music. There were a few times, though, that the band hit a fever pitch and exploded with energy. The band’s saxophonist, Ignacio Salvadores, added a bit of lightness to the show, not just via his instrument but also his dancing.

The night one setlist featured most of Space Heavy, plus lots of older favorites including “Easy Easy,” “Dum Surfer,” “Out Getting Ribs,” “Baby Blue,” and more. Check out the Kings Theatre Night 1 setlist below.

King Krule play Kings again tonight.
