King of Heck recently signed to Counter Intuitive and put out the three-song promo Kingo Tape '22, and this week they're announcing their debut full-length, Kingo, due June 3 via their new label home. It'll feature all three songs from the promo, plus the new single "Human Shotgun," which premieres in this post.
"This one is an ode to the warm summer nights, Las Vegas, Nevada, driving around town like a bullet, with you sitting shotgun," the band says. "Golden, glowing, shining, reflected moonlight, neon, dusty streetlight aura, nostalgia, some substances, warmth, a feeling. This was the first song we wrote for the album, a favorite of ours." It's a shambolic, carefree song that recalls any number of '90s lo-fi slacker indie rock bands, but King of Heck have a vibe of their own and never really sound like anyone in particular.
