Louis tTe Child & Foster The People's 'Every Color': Listen

Foster the People have been teasing their fourth studio album for about a year now, and today (March 4) fans get fresh taste of frontman Mark Foster's vocals and songwriting. Only his latest track isn't a Foster the People project, but a collaboration with the Chicago electronic duo Louis the Child.

On paper, the team-up makes plenty of sense: both artists are festival regulars used to winning over large crowds with pleasant, panoramic soundscapes. The new single "Every Color," follows suit, with Foster laying his hazy vocals over a sunny, electro-bass beat ready to soundtrack the trip from the drinks tent to the dance stage.

Foster split songwriting credits on this one alongside Louis the Child DJs Robby Hauldren and Freddy Kennett. The FTP frontman serves as lead singer, though Hauldren and Kennett have been trying out the vocal booth lately; their previous single, "Don't Mind," marked the first LTC song with the pair on lead, without a featured artist.

Foster the People have a handful of North American and European dates planned for the coming months as they continue to prep the follow-up to their 2017 album Sacred Hearts Club and last year's Pick U Up EP. Louis the Child is gearing up for a spring North American tour, which begins April 10 in Berkeley, Cali. and includes both weekends of Coachella.
