Mia Mendi shares 10 dancefloor weapons ahead of ‘Lose Yourself’

Mia Mendi is a forward-thinking electronic duo known for their avant-garde sound and genre-defying approach to dance music. Since launching in 2015, James Oliver and Meti Mehmeti have built a reputation for crafting immersive, emotionally layered productions while maintaining a refined split between stage and studio.

With James driving live performances and Meti focused on sound design, their dynamic has positioned them at the forefront of modern club culture.

Following a string of releases on labels such as Watergate, Stil Vor Talent, and ERRORR, the UK-based duo now joins Armada Music with their latest single, ‘Lose Yourself’. Created in collaboration with Blake Light, the track arrives January 9th and channels a raw, instinctive energy — built from a hypnotic groove that took shape organically during the session. It’s a release that continues Mia Mendi’s evolution as both artists and curators, as they expand their global reach through their imprints Hydera and Species.

To mark the occasion, Mia Mendi shares 10 tracks currently powering their sets around the world.

1. Lossless – All Systems

“Headed to the airport for our next couple of tours as we type this – set to use ‘All Systems’ as an opening track for a few of the shows. Who knew a one synth breakdown could be so effective.”

2. METODI – 3 Shot Espresso

METODI’s sense of groove and attention to detail is second to none. This is one of his more melodic cuts as of late.”

3. GRIM REAPER – TUSSI

“This has ‘Sankeys Manchester 2010’ written all over it. The vocal is reminiscent of that early sound from WhoMadeWho, Tale of Us, Life & Death etc. We heard Sankeys is making a comeback to Manchester, can’t wait.”

4. Massaki Morii – Burrow

“Been digging a little deeper into Afro lately just to see what’s around. Been thinking about layering the melody from this for a cool down section in an upcoming extended set. This EP from Masaki has a couple of gems.”

5. Harvey McKay – Tears In The Rain

“The vocal and hat groove carry this whole thing. Love the Blade Runner samples too, which funnily enough have been inspiring some of our other creative work.”

6. Armin van Buuren · Adam Beyer · D-Shake – Techno Trance

“Still spinning this one in most sets, massive main stage track with a clean and unique style from two of the scene’s greats alongside D-Shake.

7. KOMANI – A.D.H.S.

“Another one from the recent ‘A-Sides vol. 14’ release – next level energy. Looking forward to setting our next shows on fire with this.”

8. InntRaw – VoXxx

“The contrast between the piano chords and the drop blows the dancefloor up every single time – nobody sees it coming. Unique vocal runs over the top to act as the bridge between the light and dark elements of the track.”

9. LOODS, GERD JANSON – In Love Again

“Light relief with high energy for the club. Incredible house record with bright acid and a catchy vocal.”

10. X-Dream – We Interface feat. Ariel Electron (Alex Stein & Victor Ruiz Remix)

“Usually move on from tracks after dropping them a couple of times but we’re playing this one to absolute death – guaranteed to go off.”
