Neil Young is in the midst of his Coastal Tour, his first outing in four years, which has him playing West Coast solo shows through the end of July. He's now announced a new, very intimate Los Angeles show happening this fall, on September 20 at The Roxy. That's 50 years to the day after he headlined the venue's opening night in 1973, and the first show to be announced of its 50th anniversary celebration. Ticket details are still to be announced, and the show will benefit The Painted Turtle and Bridge School.
In an interview with the Los Angeles Times, venue co-founder Lou Adler reminisced about some of its history, and said that the Grammy Museum and West Hollywood Library would each host photo exhibitions celebrating the club, with more still to be announced.
Neil Young is also playing Farm Aid in September, and releasing his "lost" 1977 album Chrome Dreams in August.
