NYC lifting proof of vax requirement for venues, bars & restaurants

This news was expected, but only now made official by the Mayor's Office: they're lifting the proof-of-vaccination requirements at venues, bars, restaurants and gyms. "Beginning Monday, March 7, NYC will suspend the requirements under Key to NYC," the announcement reads. "Indoor venues, including restaurants, fitness facilities, and entertainment will no longer be required to check for proof of vaccination before customers enter."

However, the Mayor's Office also writes, "They will still have the flexibility to require proof of vaccination or masking indoors if they choose."

The vaccine requirement originally went into effect in August of 2021.
