Pulp and LCD Soundsystem have announced a couple of 2025 Hollywood Bowl co-headline shows set to take place later this year.
Today, the two bands revealed that they will be sharing the stage at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles on September 25 and 26 for a two-night residency in the city of Angels. “You’re seeing double … & it’s all okay. @welovepulp and @LCDSoundsystem. Together, for two nights at the @HollywoodBowl in September 2025. This is what dreams are made of. Bring your dancing shoes. #seeingdouble,” read a tweet shared by Pulp.
Jarvis Cocker also took to his official Facebook page to share his excitement about the shows. “It had to happen one day & we are in such good company… Come along & come alive!” he wrote. The two nights at the Hollywood Bowl are the only confirmed dates to feature this iconic double bill.

This is not the first time the legendary Sheffield band and Brooklyn group have been linked together. Back in 2013, LCD Soundsystem frontman James Murphy produced Pulp’s reunion single ‘After You’.
The track was first demoed by Cocker and co during the sessions for their 2001 LP ‘We Love Life’. The version that ended up being released was freshly recorded in November 2012 before being finished off with Murphy in December of that year. ‘After You’ marked Pulp’s first new single in eleven years.

In other Pulp news, it was recently announced that they will be the first band to contribute to the LIVE Trust, where £1 from every ticket sold at their summer 2025 UK arena tour will be given to fund financial support to those working across live music.
The band reunited in 2023 for the first Pulp shows since 2012, and played various new songs while out on the road, such as ‘Farmer’s Market’, ‘Spike Island’, ‘My Sex’, ‘You’ve Got To Have Love’, ‘Background Noise’ and ‘A Sunset’.
Then, last summer, it was reported that the group were “back in the studio” after frontman Cocker was spotted in Walthamstow, London. The singer was pictured carrying an orange Rough Trade tote bag while waving at the camera.
As for LCD Soundsystem, the ‘Dance Yrself Clean’ singers recently announced their summer 2025 London Residency, which will see them take over the O2 Academy Brixton for eight nights.
LCD completed a six-night residency at the O2 Academy Brixton in 2022. Their return to London this summer will follow their headline performance at All Points East 2024 in Victoria Park, and their major Pyramid Stage slot at last year’s Glastonbury.
The group have not yet played any live shows in 2025, having concluded their run of ‘Winter Function’ dates in New York last December. However, they recently announced a US headline tour for this spring ahead of appearances at Primavera Sound in Barcelona and We Love Green in Paris.
In a press release about their upcoming Primavera performance, it was revealed that the band would be releasing a new album in 2025. This came after LCD dropped a new single, ‘X-Ray Eyes’, late last year.
Murphy later shared an update about the progress on the record, saying: “So there’s a new LCD song called ‘X-Ray Eyes’. It’s the first single of what’s shaping up to be a new LCD Soundsystem album.
“Don’t ask me when that is, because we are still working on it. But it feels very good to be putting out new music.”
The frontman went on to reiterate that “there is no finished LP yet”, adding: “But when we are not playing shows, it’s getting closer and closer to completion. So that’s the news. Anything else you hear is bullshit speculation.”
‘X-Ray Eyes’ marked the first new material from LCD – aside from the standalone single ‘New Body Rhumba’ from Noah Baumbach’s 2022 film White Noise – since their 2017 comeback album ‘American Dream’. This LP itself ended a seven-year break following 2010’s ‘This Is Happening’.
