Regina Spektor was scheduled to play a big show at NYC's Carnegie Hall on Monday (4/11), but she's postponed it until July 19 because of the death of her father, Ilya Spektor. Tickets for the original date will be honored, and requests for refunds will be taken until May 6.
A message on Regina's social media reads:
Regina asked to share that it’s with a heavy heart and much sadness that she must postpone her show at Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage at Carnegie Hall to July 19. Her beloved father Ilya Spektor has passed away and she needs to be with her family at this time.
She apologizes for any and all disappointment or inconvenience. All tickets will be honored or refunded. Playing Carnegie Hall had been a dream ever since watching countless classical concerts there with her family yearly, a tradition that stretched from her childhood all the way until the pandemic cut it short. She was looking forward to finally seeing you all again, but it will have to wait a while longer. Thank you for your understanding.
Regina's anticipated new album, Home, before and after, is due out on June 24, and she also has shows with Norah Jones lined up for this summer.
