Screamo meets power pop on Short Fictions’ new LP ‘Oblivion Will Own Me…’

Pittsburgh band Short Fictions‘ new album Oblivion Will Own Me and Death Alone Will Love Me (Void Filler) is their most all-over-the-place yet. It finds time for everything from sunny power pop to harsh screamo to lo-fi bedroom folk, sometimes in the same song, and Short Fictions pull all of it off.

Vocalist/guitarist Sam Treber says to us, “Oblivion Will Own Me and Death Alone Will Love Me (Void Filler) is our most fully realized work by a mile. It is the technical and emotional climax of a band that has been honing its craft for close to a decade. Baring hard hitting jammers, catchy pop hits, and soul wrenching emotionally, Oblivion Will Own Me… leaves, in my humble opinion, nothing to be desired. I hope you enjoy it.”

Oblivion… comes out tomorrow (10/6) via Lauren Records, but the whole thing gets an early premiere right here:
