Both acts join growing list of cancellations
Sugarland and Tim McGraw are the latest acts to cancel 2020 tours due to COVID-19. The two artists shared the news on social media on Wednesday (May 20th).
Sugarland shared their announcement in a good news, bad news video, citing new music is coming very soon.
”The good news? We have new music coming very soon! Keep your eyes peeled and ears open!” They say.
”The bad news? Unfortunately our There Goes The Neighborhood Tour will no longer be taking place. We held out as long as we possibly could and so badly wanted this to work for ya’ll. Unfortunately, there’s too much uncertainty in the world.”
The tour was supposed to kick off June 4th in Toronto with Mary Chapin Carpenter and Tenille Townes on all dates and Danielle Bradbery on select dates.
Tim McGraw was set to embark on the Here On Earth Tour July 10th with two co-headlining dates with Luke Combs.
McGraw sent an email to fans sharing the cancellation news.
“I hope my live shows are proof enough of how much I absolutely love performing for you guys. I’m so sad to have to cancel this year’s Here on Earth Tour but everyone’s safety has to be the top priority,” he says. “We’re working with our teams to figure out when and how we can get back out on the road and see you all safely. In the meantime, we’re looking for some new ways to connect with you and get more music out.”
Each ticket was to include a copy of his upcoming album of the same name. No word on when that’ll be out.
Refunds for both tours will be issued automatically via Live Nation or Ticketmaster with 30 days.
Many artists have either postponed or canceled 2020 touring plans. Many more announcements are looming as Live Nation works with artists, management and venues.
