If you're thinking of carrying on like normal in the face of the coronavirus, Taylor Swift has some advice: "We need to make social sacrifices right now."
The singer/songwriter took to her Instagram Stories on Sunday night (March 15) to say she's keeping an eye on her followers and seeing way too many social gatherings moving forward.
"I love you guys so much and need to express my concern that things aren't being taken seriously enough right now," she wrote. "I'm seeing lots of get togethers and hangs and parties still happening. This is the time to cancel plans, actually truly isolate as much as you can, and don't assume that because you don't feel sick that you aren't possibly passing something on to someone elderly or vulnerable to this.
"It's a really scary time but we need to make social sacrifices right now," she concluded.
Public health experts are recommending social distancing during the spread of the coronavirus pandemic, including school closures across the country and employers urging workers to stay home. On the music front, concerts and tours are being scrapped globally, including Swift's own planned concert in conjunction with the March Madness college basketball tournament, which itself has been fully canceled.
