The Weeknd had planned to do a 2022 arena tour, but scrapped it and said he'd be upgrading it to a stadium tour, and now he has officially announced dates and venues for the first leg. Billed as the "After Hours Til Dawn Tour," it supports his 2020 album After Hours and its recently released followup Dawn FM, and it's an awesome double bill with his "You Right" collaborator Doja Cat.
Things kicks off on July 8 at Toronto's Roger Centre and wrap up in Los Angeles on September 2 at SoFi Stadium, with stops in the NYC-area, Boston, Chicago, Detroit, Miami, Atlanta, San Francisco, and more in between. Tickets for the whole tour go on sale Thursday, March 10 at 10 AM local time, and there will be a special presale starting Friday, March 4 for people who had tickets to the previously announced dates. Previous ticketholders will receive an email with more details. The Weeknd also launched the XO HUMANITARIAN FUND, with $1 from each ticket sold going to charity. Here are details via press release:
The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP), the world’s largest humanitarian organization fighting global hunger, has partnered with its Goodwill Ambassador Abel “The Weeknd” Tesfaye to launch the XO HUMANITARIAN FUND to which he is contributing $1 from each ticket sold in North America from this highly anticipated tour. The Weeknd will also make a donation of $500,000 and $1 million will be contributed by World Food Program USA to the fund. Fueled by his passion to help those in need, the multi-platinum and diamond certified global superstar established this fund to support the U.N. World Food Programme’s critical food assistance to communities on the brink of starvation, in countries like Ethiopia, Madagascar and Yemen. The Fund is administered by World Food Program USA.
