Sonos' new streaming radio service, Sonos Radio, includes several stations curated by artists, including Radiohead's Thom Yorke, Alabama Shakes' Brittany Howard, David Byrne, and more. In addition to his dedicated station In the Absence Thereof..., Thom has been doing a series of Radio Hours on the Sonos Sound System station. He'll be doing three in all, and the second one launched on Wednesday (6/24), with a variety of songs including tracks by Kim Gordon, Jai Paul, JPEGMAFIA, Injury Reserve, GILA, Frank Sinatra, Kelly Moran, Jóhann Jóhannsson, and more. It'll be available until Wednesday, July 1, and you can listen via the Sonos app on your smartphone or computer.
Coming up with Radio Hours of their own in the next couple of weeks are Whitney and Soccer Mommy. Stay tuned for those, and more.
Meanwhile, as they have been throughout the pandemic, Radiohead continue to stream previous concerts weekly, and that continues today (Thursday 6/25) with the broadcast of a show from early in their A Moon Shaped Pool, at OpenAir St. Gallen in Switzerland, in July 2016. Stream that below starting at 5 PM ET.
In related news, Lianne La Havas has shared a studio version of her cover of Radiohead's "Weird Fishes." She's been playing it live since 2013, but this version will be on her upcoming self-titled album. “I had the most wonderful, nourishing experience recording that,” said La Havas, adding that it informed the making of the whole album. “That’s where I decided: the rest of the album needs to be like this. It’s got to be my band, and I’ve got to do it in London, whenever people have time.” Lianne La Havas is out July 17 via Nonesuch and you can stream her cover of "Weird Fishes" below.
