Tori Lord Chooses Herself on “Love Me Over You”

Tori Lord wears many hats.

Known as a Canadian-born, New York–based alt-pop artist, Lord blends discipline, business acumen, and emotional honesty into her evolving sound. Before stepping into pop, she trained in opera, performing with the Canadian Children’s Opera Company and Toronto Children’s Chorus. She later joined Celine Dion on the Let’s Talk About Love tour — an early lesson in scale, stamina, and stage presence.

But music wasn’t her only lane.

After earning a Commerce degree from Queen’s University, Lord built Top Knot Inc., a patented, women-led headwear brand that secured national retail distribution and major media coverage. The experience sharpened her instincts on how to build, how to sustain, and how to lead.

Now, those worlds meet in her music.

Her latest single, “Love Me Over You,” marks a clear step forward. The track confronts societal pressure and body scrutiny without softening its message. Over sleek alt-pop production by Marty Martino, Tori Lord delivers lines that don’t ask for approval.

Following her debut single “Never Be,” which landed coverage across tastemaker outlets and playlists, Tori Lord is carving out a space rooted in emotional clarity. “Love Me Over You” is the latest step toward her debut EP, a project centered on growth, self-possession, and evolution.

Tori Lord isn’t reinventing herself.

She’s refining.

And she’s choosing herself while doing it.
