TRAVIS
Travis were scheduled to celebrate the 20th anniversary of their third album, The Invisible Band, by playing it in full on tour in April. Those dates were cancelled because frontman Fran Healy sustained an unexpected hand injury, but they've now announced a few new dates in November, in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, NYC (Webster Hall on November 8), and Washington DC. CARPENTER BRUT
French horror synthwave group Carpenter Brut will be in North America in late summer for the Leather Terror Tour. Dates begin in Los Angeles on August 15 and wrap up in the DC area on September 3. The NYC show is at Brooklyn Steel on September 2.
STEREOLAB
Stereolab are playing Primavera L.A. in September and will tour around it with Deradoorian opening all dates.
KARATE
Nineties-era Boston post-hardcore/post-rock/emo/indie band Karate have been active lately, reissuing their classic albums via The Numero Group. Now they are getting much more active, having announced their first U.S. tour in 17 years.
BAUHAUS
Bauhaus are playing Pasadena, CA's Cruel World festival in May, and afterwards they'll play a few West Coast shows and then be back in September for rescheduled NYC shows.
DANZIG / CRADLE OF FILTH
Danzig is performing his classic 1990 sophomore album Danzig II: Lucifuge in California this May, along with other dates with Cradle of Filth and Crobot.
BLONDIE / THE DAMNED
Blondie will be on the Against the Odds tour starting next month, including a couple California shows in May with The Damned after they both play Cruel World Fest. They've just announced a new leg of the tour happening in August, which are all with The Damned. Stops include Boston, NYC, DC, Cincinnati, Nashville, Detroit Chicago and more.
FUTURE ISLANDS
Future Islands are on tour this spring and they've sold out two nights at NYC's Brooklyn Steel (June 2 & 3) and have just added a third show at the venue on June 4. Head here for all dates.
COURTNEY BARNETT
Courtney Barnett had to postpone the last few shows of her North American tour last month due to Covid, including her big NYC show at Radio City Music Hall. She's now announced rescheduled dates.
LAURA JANE GRACE / TIM KASHER / ANTHONY GREEN
Laura Jane Grace of Against Me!, Tim Kasher of Cursive, and Anthony Green of Circa Survive are teaming up for a tour together this spring. It's called "The Carousel Tour," and about it, Laura says, "We wanted to do something different with the Carousel Tour, something more collaborative than your usual show. So while each of us will have our own set times, these aren’t solo sets. We’ve challenged each other to blur the lines and join in on each other’s songs and to bring other players onto the stage with us each night. We don’t want any show on the tour to feel routine or the same as the night before. We’re trying to lean into the unpredictability of these current times while manifesting inspiration and unhinged joy."
GATECREEPER
Arizona death metallers Gatecreeper have announced a spring headlining tour of North America with some very cool, genre-diverse openers.
SUNLESS / NOCTAMBULIST
Progressive death metal band Sunless will be on tour in April with blackened death metal band Noctambulist. Starting in the Midwest with Abhorrent Expanse, Sunless will go West, joined by Noctambulist, before making their way down the coast with three final shows joined by Teeth. BAD MOVES w/ MANEKA, GLADIE & MORE
DC indie-punks Bad Moves have announced three East Coast shows with cool openers on each date: DC's Black Cat on 4/29 with Gauche and Bottled Up, Brooklyn's The Broadway on 4/30 with Gabby's World and Maneka (whose new album Dark Matters comes out next week), and Philly's PhilaMOCA on 5/1 with 2nd Grade and Gladie. LETSGETFR.EE FEST
LETSGETFR.EE is a new music carnaval coming to Queens' Flushing Meadows-Corona Park on August 20 and 21. It was created by AFROPUNK Festival founder and ex-head Matthew Morgan, alongside partner Jocelyn Cooper and the Anomaly agency, and the lineup is pretty amazing, with Missy Elliott, Wizkid, Anderson .Paak, Ozuna, Kali Uchis, Jorja Smith, Jhene Aiko, Flatbush Zombies, (A$AP) Ferg, Major Lazer Sound System, Bomba Estéreo, Kojey Radical, El Alfa, Mr. Eazi, Lido Pimienta, Bas, Beenie Man, Fousheé, GoldLink, Raveena, Bakar, Tiwa Savage, Audrey Nuna, Teezo Touchdown, Priya Ragu, Tems, Aluna, and more.
BIA
"Whole Lotta Money" hitmaker Bia has a few dates on the horizon, including the Okeechobee Festival this week, a free show at NYC's Sony Hall on March 10 (tickets), and dates with Russ (Red Rocks, more). All dates are here.
THE OFFSPRING
The Offspring returned with their first album in nine years in 2021, and they'll support it on a US tour this spring.
BOBBY WEIR & WOLF BROS
The Grateful Dead's Bobby Weir & Wolf Bros are out on tour this spring and fall in the US, and they've now added two new NYC dates.
WHORES / BUMMER / CAPRA
Atlanta sludge metal band Whores have confirmed that a new album is coming this year, but first here's a new single, which is heavy and pissed-off but still very melodic. They also announced a tour with Bummer and Capra that hits Brooklyn at Saint Vitus on June 25.
DEATH BEFORE DISHONOR / CRUEL HAND / YEAR OF THE KNIFE
Death Before Dishonor, Cruel Hand, and Year Of The Knife are joining forces for a hardcore triple threat tour this spring.
BRONCHO
Broncho will head out on the I Know You tour in June, beginning with two shows in Denver and running through the summer, including a NYC show at Brooklyn Made on July 23. Head here for all dates.
CORINNE BAILEY RAE
British singer-songwriter Corinne Bailey Rae has announced her first solo headlining tour of North America in over five years, which has her out with Melanie Charles and more.
DAY IN DAY OUT FEST
Seattle's second annual Day In Day Out festival happens August 12-14, and the lineup also includes The National, Mitski, Mac DeMarco, Turnstile, Japanese Breakfast, Animal Collective, JPEGMAFIA, Soccer Mommy, MUNA, Jamila Woods, Hurray for the Riff Raff, and more.
WEIRD NIGHTMARE (ALEX FROM METZ) / KIWI JR
Alex Edkins of METZ just announced his solo project Weird Nightmare, and he'll tour with fellow Torontonians and Sub Pop labelmates Kiwi Jr later this year.
