Jeff Rosenstock released his great new album NO DREAM earlier this year on Polyvinyl, and last night (7/1) he did an all-request livestream to benefit various Black Lives Matter, bail and transgender funds.
Jeff pulled the requests out of a bucket and played whatever he pulled, which led to funny things like Jeff opening his set with a "Margaritaville" cover, and you could tell he was in great spirits, going with the flow, and having fun with it the whole time. He ended up doing a bunch of Bomb the Music Industry! songs, one Arrogant Sons of Bitches song, one by his short-lived Kudrow project, and a few from I Look Like Shit, the 2012 solo album he put out before his solo career had its more "proper" start with 2015's We Cool? (which he played "Novelty Sweater" from during this stream). He also covered Tom Jones' "What's New Pussycat?", "I Don't Wanna Die" by Japanese punks Ging Nang Boyz, and "The Verge" by Jeff's friends Bad Moves. He did a few NO DREAM songs too.
