Lauryn Hill performed her own mini Coachella set during son YG Marley’s slot at the California music festival this weekend.
During the afternoon performance on Sunday (April 14), the neo soul legend appeared to perform her own classics from ‘The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill’ like ‘Ex-Factor’ and ‘Lost Ones’.
She went on to perform ‘Killing Me Softly’, ‘Fu-Gee-La’ and ‘Ready or Not’ with band member Wyclef Jean for a partial Fugees reunion.
The performance also featured surprise guest Busta Rhymes and Spliff Star who performed ‘Where My Eyes Could See’ and the former’s verse from Chris Brown’s ‘Look At Me Now’.

During the performance, the collective paid tribute to YG Marley’s grandfather Bob Marley with snippets of ‘Is This Love’ and ‘Exodus’.
“Coachella, if you don’t want no more war in the world, put your hands in the air,” said Jean as Marley’s ‘War’ played (per Variety).
Hill’s performance at Coachella comes after she postponed the remaining dates of her tour celebrating the 25th anniversary of ‘The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill’, citing a “serious vocal strain for the past month”.
In November 2023, the lengthy caption revealed that she had been performing recent shows while on prescribed medication. “I made it through each show by taking prescribed prednisone,” she wrote. “In order to prevent any long term negative affect on my voice and my body, I need to take time off to allow for real vocal recovery so that I can discontinue the medication completely.”
She’s since returned to performing with a handful of shows across February, March and April of this year.
Meanwhile, Busta Rhymes will be joining Missy Elliott announces on her first ever headline tour alongside Ciara.
