What do you get when you mix the warm island vibes of Jamaica with some chill Swedish pop instincts? "Calling on Me," the steamy joint single from Sean Paul and Tove Lo that dropped on Friday morning (Feb. 7) with just the right mix of attitude and uplifting message about the power of true love.
"I'll be there to give you what you need/ I'll support your causes selflessly (Yeah)/ I got you/ Just like you would do for me without a please/ Same blood we bleed (Yeah)," Paul sings earnestly over the crackling beat before Lo's soothing chorus drops in, "Calling, calling, calling on me/ I'll be there for you/ Calling, calling, calling on me/ Forever running to you."
"'Calling On Me’ is a dope song reflecting the real side of love," Paul said in a statement about his first song of 2020. “If you love someone, the energy doesn’t ever change. They are able to call on you at all times. I’m proud to have such an amazing vocalist like Tove Lo be on the track with me.”
The collab is the latest track in a flurry from Lo this year; she recently dropped two Finneas-produced tracks, "Bikini Porn" and "Passion and Pain Taste the Same When I'm Weak," as well as a new video for the sensual grinder "Are U Gonna Tell Her?"
