Country music star Travis Tritt has made the difficult decision to cancel several upcoming tour dates as he recovers from a recent illness. The 62-year-old two-time Grammy winner, who has been a staple in the industry since the late 1980s, shared the news with his 450,000 followers on Instagram, confirming that he is currently battling pneumonia.
The diagnosis has forced the singer to step away from the stage, specifically impacting his scheduled performance at the Country Calling Festival in Ocean City, Maryland, this weekend. Additionally, his show originally slated for October 3 in Virginia has been rescheduled for November 12.
In a candid update to his fans, Tritt explained that he had been feeling unwell for roughly two weeks before receiving his diagnosis. "I’m sorry to report that I was diagnosed with pneumonia earlier this week. Turns out that the pneumonia was actually present for the past 2 weeks, but I didn’t know it, because I’ve never had it before," he shared. "I just knew I felt a bit weak and sluggish."
This health setback also affected previously scheduled performances in Macon and Charleston, which have been moved to April 22, 2027, and November 14, 2026, respectively. Tritt reassured his supporters that all previously purchased tickets will remain valid for the new dates, expressing his optimism about returning to the stage soon. "The good news – you don’t have to do anything! All tickets already purchased will be valid for the new dates. I fully expect to be back in the saddle next week. Thanks for understanding!"
Throughout his storied career, Tritt has achieved significant success, boasting five number-one hits on the Hot Country charts and a triple-platinum certification for his 1991 album, It's All About to Change. As he focuses on his recovery, fans continue to send their well-wishes to the country music legend.
