Surfbort are on a US tour behind their 2021 Linda Perry-produced LP Keep on Truckin', which stopped by Market Hotel on Thursday (3/3). Towards the beginning of their set, vocalist Dani Miller expressed the band's gratitude to be back home in Brooklyn, announcing, "This is our eighth year Surfborting!" Despite rising temperatures indoors (a fact Miller pointed out throughout the night), the band powered through many highlights off their new record, as the energetic, moshing crowd didn't let the heat deter them from keeping things moving.
As always, Miller's commanding, eccentric stage presence was a focal point of the band's set, with her honest-yet-confrontational lyricism feeling even more powerful in a live setting. Songs like "FML," "Dicks in Space," and "White Claw Enema Bong Hit" excelled in the sweaty, packed environment, as Miller would often turn the microphone towards fans in the front row, who wasted no opportunities to scream many of the lyrics. The band included newer songs in the mix as well, which felt familiar amongst older favorites.
