Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith & Emile Mosseri releasing collaborative LP (watch “Green To You” video)

Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith and Emile Mosseri (who scored Minari and The Last Black Man in San Francisco, among other films) used to be neighbors in Los Angeles, but only began collaborating once Smith had moved away. They released the first part of an eventual two-part collaborative album, I Could Be Your Dog (Prequel), in September, and now they've announced the sequel, I Could be Your Moon. Together, the two parts are due out May 27 via Ghostly International (pre-order), and you can see the cover art and tracklist below.

"That's one of the things that was so special about this collaboration," Mosseri says, "it felt like we were writing music through one another."

"In our collaboration we talked about the idea of needing a catalyst, or inspiration coming from a reaction to something," Smith adds. "Like when you think you hear a friend say something, and they said something else, but what you thought you heard was actually something that you wrote, that you generated, and had a clear channel to grab it because your sense of self didn't get in the way."

They've shared a hypnotic new single, "Green To You," which is accompanied by a video directed by Chantal Anderson, who also did the visuals for previous singles "Moon In Your Eye" and "Log In Your Fire." Watch all three below.

Kaitlyn has one upcoming show at the moment, on April 30 at Knockdown Center in Queens, when she plays day 1 of Outline: Spring, alongside Lyra Pramuk, Hyd, Loraine James, Claire Rousay, and ---__--___ (Seth Graham & More Eaze).
