K-pop girl group LE SSERAFIM are gearing up for their next comeback.
On June 28, South Korean news outlet SpoTV News reported that the five-member girl group are planning to release new music in August. Their label Source Music soon confirmed the news.
“LE SSERAFIM is currently preparing for a comeback, with the goal of a release towards the end of August,” it said. The label added that it will make an announcement regarding a precise release date once they confirm the group’s schedule.
The upcoming release will be the follow up to LE SSERAFIM’s February mini-album ‘Easy’, which was led by the title track of the same name. In a four-star review of the record, NME’s Rhian Daly wrote that it “presents a new evolution in LE SSERAFIM’s oeuvre, not just thematically but musically”.
Two months after the record dropped, the girl group became the fastest-invited K-pop act to perform at Coachella. The group debuted a new song ‘1-800-Hot-N-Fun’ at the festival, though it is not known if the track will feature on their August release.
In other K-pop news, BTS’ Jimin has started rolling out his upcoming solo album ‘Muse’. He dropped a pre-release track titled ‘Smeraldo Garden Marching Band’ featuring rapper Loco earlier today, along with a dreamy music video. The full seven-track record arrives next month.
Elsewhere, iconic second-generation girl group 2NE1 met up with former agency YG’s executive producer Yang Hyun-suk regarding a potential reunion yesterday. According to the agency, the two parties held a “meaningful” discussion, and hope to announce “good news” to fans soon.
