DWTS Pros Reveal Most Inappropriate Comments From Their Celebrity Dance Partners

Behind the Scenes of the Ballroom

The glitz and glamour of Dancing With the Stars often mask the complex, high-pressure dynamics between professional dancers and their celebrity partners. Recently, former show veterans Artem Chigvintsev, Sharna Burgess, and Peta Murgatroyd pulled back the curtain on their experiences, revealing that the professional relationship sometimes veered into deeply uncomfortable territory.

During a candid conversation on the Penthouse With Peta podcast, the trio discussed the reality of working in such an intimate environment. While they opted not to name the specific celebrities involved, they were transparent about the nature of the inappropriate remarks they were forced to navigate during their tenure on the hit ABC dance competition.

Navigating Unprofessional Boundaries

For many of the pros, the challenge lay in maintaining a professional demeanor while being subjected to suggestive or lewd comments. Chigvintsev, who competed from Season 18 through 32, recalled a particularly jarring moment where a partner made a sexually explicit request regarding his performance. "I remember one person they were like, ‘I want you to look at me like you want to f–k me,’” he shared. “First of all, what do you say in return?”

The conversation highlighted the emotional toll of these interactions. Burgess, who appeared on the show from Season 16 to 30, noted that such situations often leave the recipient feeling physically uncomfortable. "I have second-hand embarrassment," she added, noting that "your whole skin crawls" when faced with such unprofessionalism.

The Reality of the Rehearsal Room

Peta Murgatroyd, who graced the ballroom from Season 13 to 32, shared her own experiences with boundary-crossing behavior. She recounted a moment during a Foxtrot rehearsal where a partner made a crude remark about their positioning. Despite the discomfort, Murgatroyd explained that she often relied on humor to diffuse the tension, though she admitted that such comments were far from isolated incidents.

"More often than not, we receive this s–t all the time," Burgess added, recounting an instance where a partner texted her from the bathroom during rehearsals with inappropriate advances. These revelations underscore the often-unseen pressures faced by professionals in the entertainment industry, where the line between performance and personal space can become dangerously blurred.
