Prins Thomas Reimagines FSQ’s ‘Feeling Wide’ for Soul Clap Records

Norwegian space-disco pioneer Prins Thomas has unveiled a sophisticated new remix package for FSQ, Moniquea, and XL Middleton’s collaborative track, ‘Feeling Wide’. Released via Soul Clap Records, the EP breathes new life into the original composition, which first surfaced in late 2025.

The three-track collection is anchored by the Diskomiks version, a masterclass in reinterpretation where Prins Thomas pivots away from the original’s new wave foundation to embrace a more expansive, cosmic aesthetic. By integrating rhythmic claps, echoed low-ends, and carefully layered melodic chords, he transforms the track’s initial punk-funk energy into a mid-tempo, Balearic-inspired groove perfectly suited for late-night dance floors.

In addition to the lead mix, the package features a Diskodub and an Instrumental version, providing DJs with versatile tools that emphasize a stripped-back, atmospheric sound. These versions highlight the production prowess of Prins Thomas, who continues to solidify his status as a central figure in the “Oslo Disco” scene through his work with the Full Pupp and Internasjonal labels.

FSQ, the New York-based collective celebrated for their commitment to live-instrumentation funk, continues to bridge the gap between classic boogie and modern electronic production. Their frequent collaborations with West Coast mainstays like XL Middleton and Moniquea have consistently pushed the boundaries of the genre, and this latest remix package serves as a testament to the enduring appeal of their collaborative vision.
