Skrillex And Young Miko Link Up For The High-Energy New Single 'Duro'

It has been a relatively short wait for fans of Skrillex since the producer dropped his surprise EP, Hit Me Where It Hurts X, last November. Now, he is back with a fresh release, teaming up with the rapidly ascending artist Young Miko for the high-energy new single, "Duro," which arrived on March 27.

The track is already familiar to many dedicated followers, as the duo teased the collaboration last year during Skrillex's performance at the Ultra Miami Music Festival, where Young Miko joined him on stage for a live debut. The song showcases Miko’s versatility, as she flows seamlessly between English and Spanish, delivering lyrics that center on an object of her affection.

In a recent interview with Cosmopolitan, Young Miko addressed questions regarding her professional journey and the themes of her songwriting. When asked if writing about her experiences as a lesbian has ever hindered her career, she was clear in her response: "Honestly, no. I, honest to god, feel like it’s been the other way around. I always knew I was a lesbian. I had my first girlfriend when I was really young. My mom was like, 'You’re weird around this girl, different than you are around other people.' She noticed, and then she just dragged me out of the closet."

For Skrillex, the release of "Duro" comes during a busy period of live performances. After spending much of March on the festival circuit, he is set to continue his momentum in June with appearances at major events, including Primavera Sound and Bonnaroo.
