Murphy acknowledged the deep connection that many viewers, particularly those now in their 20s, still feel toward the show and its iconic musical numbers. "It’s something to consider," Murphy noted. "For many, many people now in their 20s, they grew up on that show and it meant something to them. The music meant something."
When pressed on the possibility of a return, Murphy emphasized that his creative process is always driven by the strength of the narrative. "So, let’s kick it around and see what we get. It’s always about the story for me. What’s the story? Do I want to tell the story now? Sometimes I want to wait."
Beyond the creative spark, Murphy expressed a strong interest in projects that bring production jobs back to Los Angeles. A revival of the series would certainly align with that goal, though he stopped short of confirming any concrete plans. Furthermore, any potential project would not be immediate; the creator is currently committed to directing a new vampire-themed story in Europe starting this December.
