Legendary producer and DJ DJ Shadow has officially announced plans to commemorate the 30th anniversary of his seminal debut album, Endtroducing. The celebration includes a special reissue of the record and a highly anticipated tour that will see the artist performing across North America and Europe.
Released in September 1996, Endtroducing remains a cornerstone of instrumental hip-hop. Recorded between his home studio, The Glue Factory in San Francisco, and Dan The Automator’s studio, the album gained fame as the first project composed entirely of samples. Its unique blend of rock, psychedelia, and jazz influences helped define the sound of modern electronica, influencing countless artists including Radiohead and Deftones.
A Legacy Reimagined
In the three decades since its debut, the album has maintained its status as a classic, praised for its lo-fi textures and ambient soundscapes. To mark the milestone, the artist—born Joshua Paul Davis—will release a special anniversary edition on September 18.
