Mexican producer Trip Tease has officially unveiled his debut album, ‘Durango’, released via the label clipp.art. This highly anticipated project marks a significant milestone for the artist, whose real name is Carlos Salame, as he continues to refine his signature sound.
The 11-track LP arrives five years after his debut EP, ‘Shades’, showcasing a matured artistic vision that seamlessly bridges the gap between contemporary electronic production and cinematic storytelling. Throughout the album, Salame navigates a diverse sonic landscape, moving fluidly between house rhythms, melodic electronics, lo-fi pop sensibilities, and rich, organic textures.
‘Durango’ is designed as a cohesive journey. It opens with the driving energy of ‘Jaguar’ and concludes with the ethereal, ambient tones of ‘Lila’. In between, the listener is treated to a variety of moods; ‘Seahorse’ offers a nostalgic, reflective atmosphere, while ‘Mina de Cobre’ delves into the hazier, more experimental corners of the record. The production is characterized by a consistent palette of processed drums, warm synthesizers, intricate arpeggios, and hypnotic grooves.
This debut follows a prolific period for Trip Tease, who has spent the last several years building his reputation through high-profile collaborations and remixes. His work has seen him cross paths with notable artists including DJ Seinfeld, Ólafur Arnalds, Rhye, Poolside, Photay, Polo & Pan, and Kris Berle.
