Lionel Richie Hospitalized for Third Time This Year Amid Health Struggles

Music icon Lionel Richie has been hospitalized for the third time this year due to his ongoing struggle with heart-related health issues. This latest medical setback has necessitated the cancellation of the next three scheduled performances of his Sing a Song All Night tour, which he is co-headlining with Earth, Wind & Fire.

According to reports from TMZ, sources close to the situation have confirmed that the legendary singer-songwriter is currently receiving treatment for atrial fibrillation, commonly referred to as an irregular heartbeat. His medical team is reportedly utilizing an AFib ablation procedure to address the condition and stabilize his health.

The cancellation affects upcoming tour stops in San Francisco, Chicago, and Columbus. However, fans can expect the singer's scheduled Las Vegas performance on October 14 to proceed as planned, provided his recovery continues on schedule.

This incident marks the third time in recent months that the artist has required hospitalization. The first instance occurred in June, when he was forced to end a performance in St. Paul early after experiencing symptoms of dizziness. He was subsequently transported from the venue by ambulance. Following that event, he reached out to his supporters via social media, stating, “Thank you for every message, every kind word, and for all your love. I’m doing well, and I’m grateful for all of you.”

Most recently, in August, the singer was admitted to a hospital in St. Louis, where he spent several days in the intensive care unit undergoing cardiac testing. While that stay was concerning for fans, an insider later reported that he was “doing great” following the evaluation.
