Satriani will release new album in April 2020
Joe Satriani has postponed the first leg of the European Shapeshifting Tour to spring 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The guitarist was planning to launch the nearly two month long trek in Germany on April 15th, but has pushed the dates to next spring.
“The current COVID-19 virus has now reached pandemic proportions and is making daily life for all of us very challenging,” Satriani shares. “As always, my concern for the health and safety of my fans, my band and crew always takes precedence when touring, and now is no exception. I’ve had to make the difficult but necessary decision to postpone the 1st leg of the European Shapeshifting Tour and we are working to reschedule the shows that are affected. Please hold on to your tickets for the rescheduled tour dates Let’s band together to beat this virus and rock another day.”
Satriani assures more dates will be announced soon.
Satriani’s forthcoming studio album, Shapeshifting, remains set for release on April 10th on CD and LP Sony Music/Legacy Recordings. Satriani has released “Big Distortion,” available now on all streaming platforms.
