Man Falls to His Death at Goose Show in Madison Square Garden

A 51-year-old man has tragically died after falling during a performance by the band Goose at New York’s iconic Madison Square Garden. The incident occurred on the evening of Saturday, June 20, prompting an immediate response from emergency services.

According to a statement provided by the NYPD to the New York Post, authorities were alerted to the situation at approximately 9:51pm. Upon arrival, emergency responders found the individual “unconscious and unresponsive” following a fall from an “elevated position” within the venue. The man was subsequently transported to Bellevue Hospital in New York City, where he was pronounced dead. The identity of the deceased has not been released, and the incident remains under active investigation.

The Connecticut-based jam band, comprised of Rick Mitarotonda, Trevor Weeks, Peter Anspach, and Cotter Ellis, were headlining the venue at the time of the tragedy. In a statement released following the event, the band expressed their profound grief: “We are deeply saddened and heartbroken to learn of the tragic event that occurred at tonight’s show. We extend our deepest sympathy to everyone affected. Thank you to the emergency personnel and venue staff who stepped in with care and support.”

While the band’s set continued, witnesses reported that authorities cordoned off seven rows in the lower section of the arena to manage the scene. This incident follows a similar tragedy last August, when a man fell to his death during an Oasis concert at London’s Wembley Stadium. In that case, police investigation concluded that the death of 45-year-old Lee Claydon was a “tragic accident” with no evidence of third-party involvement.
