Band reschedules postponed spring dates
Metallica has announced rescheduled South American tour dates for December 2020. The six city trek was set to for April, but postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic. Greta Van Fleet will still be support on the tour running December 4-20th.
“We’re back with more information about the rescheduled shows in South America,” the band shares. “As we told you a few days ago, we’re all putting safety first, self-isolating and socially distancing, but are also looking forward and are excited that we’ll still be able to visit our friends in South America later this year. Greta Van Fleet will be joining us and while all the cities are the same, a few venues have changed.”
Tickets to the original April shows will still be honored for the December dates. Those unable to attend the rescheduled shows need to check with their ticket provider for refunds.
The band was forced to cancel three of its Danny Wimmer Presents festival stops due to COVID-19. Epicenter in Charlotte, Welcome to Rockville in Daytona and Sonic Temple in Columbus are all canceled due to rescheduling logistics. However, due to Louder Than Life expanding to four days, the rockstars will now headline opening night after dropping out last month due to frontman James Hetfield’s efforts to stay healthy.
The group is making the most of social distancing by offering Metallica Mondays where fans can stream complete live shows on their Facebook page and YouTube channel. Every week, the group will stream a different complete different show from their Live Metallica archives. The series kicked off this past Monday with Metallica: Live at Slane Castle from June 8, 2019.
